Performing Encounters is a series of salons.
A meeting point and a room for discourse and friendly optimism.
Transdisciplinarity will always be inherent, emerged from the social function of the salon. The salon has the transforming potential to question hierarchies and to intervene – be it as link to fluidity or to the disrespect of boundaries. The subjects of the ‘salons’ will be: the role of creativity and collaboration, particularly the role of networking; gaming as artistic practice; the political dimensions of encouters at dinner.
Started in 2014, Performing Encounters is hosted by different Berlin-based institutions like the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, the District Kunst-und Kulturförderung, Grimmuseum or Kreuzberg Pavillon.
About the curator
I work as an independent curator in Berlin. Curating is an ‘artistic research process’ to me, that in itself allows enquiry – to re-imagine, re-arrange, experiment with and expand its methodology and ways of communication.
